Amica 5430 Sprint Prizes and Awards

There will be awards for the top 3 male and top 3 female in each age group for the Amica 5430 Sprint Triathlon.

If you are unable to stay for the awards ceremony, we will ship your award to the address provided upon registration.

Age Groups

Awards to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age groups:

12-14,15-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and up

USAT

Top 10% in every age group will qualify for the 2010 USAT Age Group National Championship

Lost and Found

Our designated Lost and Found area is in the Information/Volunteer Check-In Tent. Please check there before leaving the event if you have any missing items. Should you find that you have returned home with some gear that is not yours or that you are missing something, please email immediately. We will do our best to get your items back to you. All Lost and Found will be kept for one month following the event. After that time, they will be donated to a local charity.

FAQ Symbol What will the water temperature be for the race?
  • Although, we can not be sure of the exact temperature of the water on race day the typical temperature of the Boulder Reservoir for the Sprint will be in the upper 60's, for the Peak expect the water to be between 68° & 72° and the Long course is typically between 70° and 74°.
FAQ Symbol Does the 5430 Sprint have a cut off time?
  • We reserve the right to pull someone from the course based on permits and safety.

  • Swim/Bike/Run courses are available in the course section of the web site.
FAQ Symbol How do I find out if there are entries still available and if so, how do I sign up?
  • Go to the ENTRY link on the site and if the entry page says the race is still open, there will be a link to the sign up form.

    There will be NO refunds given for the 5430 Sprint Triathlon.

  • We will implement the International Triathlon Federation and USA Triathlon's Age Group Competition rule: All age group athletes must compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete's age on December 31 of the year of the event.

FAQ Symbol Are wetsuits allowed?
  • Wetsuits are permitted if the water temperature is 78 degrees Fahrenheit or colder. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Age group participants shall not wear wet suits in water temperatures equal to or greater than 84 degrees Fahrenheit. The wetsuit policy for elite athletes shall be determined by the USAT Athletes Advisory Council.

    Due to the expected water temperature on race day, wetsuits will likely be permitted.
FAQ Symbol Will I be allowed to cross the finish line with my athlete?
  • Friends and/or family members are NOT permitted to cross the finish line or enter the finish chute with participating athletes. However, friends and/or families are encouraged to reunite with their athlete in the post-race area just beyond the finish line.

  • Yes.

FAQ Symbol What are the distances?
  • 750 meter swim, 17.2 mile bike and 3.1 mile run.
FAQ Symbol Are there any road closures on race day?
  • No, however, if spectators must be on the course we ask that they use extreme caution.
FAQ Symbol Can I take my car on the race course to watch my athlete?
  • No, for safety reasons we ask that you do not attempt to follow your athlete by car. The best place to watch your athlete is in the transition area and the finish line. Any vehicular traffic on the race course should expect long delays. Please do not attempt to gain access to the race course with your vehicle. We want to keep the course as safe as possible for the athletes.
FAQ Symbol Will I be allowed into the finish line area to greet my athlete?
  • Unfortunately, due to high congestion in the finish line area, no spectators will be allowed. Please do not try to gain access to this area, as it must remain clear for the safety of the athletes. Before the event, you and your athlete should decide on a meeting place for after they have finished.
FAQ Symbol Will I be allowed into the medical tent to look for my athlete if they have not arrived at our meeting destination?
  • The Medical Tent is highly congested and spectators will not be allowed in. There will be a Medical Information Tent next to the Medical Tent where medical updates will be available on athletes who enter the Medical Tent. Please, be patient with the Medical Information Volunteers, updates will be posted as soon as they are received.

  • The Ford Ironman Expo features various booths- including a showcase of Ford vehicles, Ironman merchandise, Ironman retailers/bike services, the Janus Inspiration Station (spectators can create inspirational signs to line the course), and many other things. It provides a perfect gathering and meeting place for athletes and spectators.

Boulder Peak Triathlon Prizes and Awards

There will be awards for the top 3 male and top 3 female in each age group for the Boulder Peak Triathlon.

The top 5 Professional male and female athletes will receive awards as well as prize money.

If you are unable to stay for the award ceremony, we will hold onto your trophy for one month after the race. Awards can be mailed to those requesting it, for a shipping and handling fee.

Teams

There are three divisions of teams: men's, women's, and coed. Teams of 2 or 3 competitors may race in the triathlon. Prizes will be awarded to the top two teams in each division.
